Jan. 5, 2010

I had an argument with my boyfriend last night. He has a 4 and a half year old daughter. He told her if she went to bed nicely at 9:00 p.m. at her mother's house that she would get some presents that were left over from Christmas from my family. Her mother was not feeling well, so he was trying to help out. Her mother said she stayed up until 12:30 a.m. Needless to say she did not go to bed nicely. So the follow through would have been to not get the presents. Well she got them. His reasoning was they were there staring her in the face and he did not think it was right not to give them to her. WTF?!?! And then he wonders why she asks the spoiled way she acts. It kills me.

I have discovered a success at school. My kids have been practicing typing on the computer and typed their new year's resolutions today. They did so well. It is good to see results from all the practicing!

The is a boy in my class that constantly pushes my buttons. He always has something to say after I say it or has some sound or something, so he can have the last word. I wonder what will come of him in the future. I think he is not headed for the right path!

One part of my day that I like is walking my autistic child to the bus. We have a routine and it is a minute or two that I can spend while he tells me whatever he says - usually how cold, or how far his bus driver, Ryan, parked up the road. I like it a lot!

My class reads a lot, like a lot a lot! We checked out of the library yesterday and about eight kids needed to check out today again because they finished their books. The only thing that is a downer is that the library ladies feel it is a great inconvenience to them. Don't we want our kids to want to read, to have a love for reading. They are hooked, let's not ruin it for them, this early in life. It will be shattered soon enough.
